.The ridge of high pressure currently in place over the Pacific
Northwest will break down tonight through Wednesday as a pair of
upper-level low-pressure systems pass over the region. This will
lead to thunderstorm development across central and eastern
Oregon Tuesday afternoon and evening, and across eastern Oregon
Wednesday afternoon and evening. Widespread breezy to windy
conditions will persist this evening through Wednesday, strongest
through the Cascade gaps and Columbia Basin on Wednesday with a
frontal passage.

* AFFECTED AREA...Fire Weather Zones 696 John Day Valley, 700
Central Mountains of Oregon and 705 Southern Deschutes
National Forest.

* TIMING...Until 11 PM PDT this evening.

* IMPACTS...Any fire that develops will catch and spread
quickly. Outdoor burning is not recommended.

* THUNDERSTORMS...Storms are mostly expected to be dry with
rainfall amounts less than a tenth of an inch, though a few
storms could produce rainfall amounts in excess of a tenth of
an inch.

* OUTFLOW WINDS...As high as 60 mph.

Details:
The National Weather Service in Medford has cancelled the Red
Flag Warning for this evening. The thunderstorms that developed
earlier across the north have moved away from the area. So, the
Red Flag Warning for this evening is cancelled.

WEDNESDAY FOR ABUNDANT LIGHTNING ON DRY FUELS FOR FIRE WEATHER
ZONES 624 AND 625...

* AFFECTED AREA...In Oregon...eastern portions of fire zone 624
and fire zone 625. This includes the Fremont National Forest,
including from Silver Lake southward to Bly, as well as most of
Lake County.

* THUNDERSTORMS...Isolated to scattered thunderstorms. Lightning
strikes outside of precipitation cores are possible, and cause
for concern for new fire starts. Isolated dry thunderstorms (10-
15% chance) are also possible.

* OUTFLOW WINDS...Gusts of 35 to 55 mph could travel outward up
to 25 miles from thunderstorm cores.

ON WEDNESDAY EVENING...

A frontal passage will bring isolated to scattered thunderstorms
with minimal precipitation over the BLM districts of Southwest
Idaho and Southeast Oregon. Strong outflow winds up to 55 MPH
is possible.

The National Weather Service in Boise has issued a Red Flag
Warning for lightning, which is in effect from 3 PM MDT /2 PM
PDT/ Wednesday to midnight MDT /11 PM PDT/ Wednesday night. The
Fire Weather Watch is no longer in effect.

* AFFECTED AREA...In Oregon, Fire Weather Zones 670 Burns BLM,
672 Southern Grasslands, 673 Central Canyonlands and 674
Northwestern Vale BLM.

* WHAT...Hot conditions with temperatures up to 105 degrees
expected. This will pose a major risk of heat-related illness.

Foothills of the Blue Mountains of Washington.

* IMPACTS...Hot temperatures may cause heat illnesses. Extreme heat
will significantly increase the risk of heat-related illnesses for
much of the population, especially those who are heat sensitive
and those without effective cooling or adequate hydration.

Information:
Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of
the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Young children and
pets should never be left unattended in vehicles under any
circumstances.

Take extra precautions if you work or spend time outside. When
possible reschedule strenuous activities to early morning or
evening. Know the signs and symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat
stroke. Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing when possible.
To reduce risk during outdoor work, the Occupational Safety and
Health Administration recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks in
shaded or air conditioned environments. Anyone overcome by heat
should be moved to a cool and shaded location. Heat stroke is an
