...RED FLAG WARNING FOR SCATTERED LIGHTNING THIS EVENING...AND AGAIN EARLY FRIDAY MORNING THROUGH LATE FRIDAY EVENING IN SOUTHEAST OREGON... .Scattered thunderstorms will decrease but not end tonight in southeast Oregon and far southwest Idaho. Several more rounds of thunderstorms are likely in southeast Oregon beginning early Friday morning and lasting through late Friday evening. Gusty outflow winds and lightning, combined with low humidity, will continue to cause critical fire weather conditions. * AFFECTED AREA...In Oregon, Fire Weather Zones 670 Burns BLM and 672 Southern Grasslands. * TIMING...From 2 AM to 10 PM PDT Friday. * IMPACTS...Any fire that develops will catch and spread quickly. Outdoor burning is not recommended. * THUNDERSTORMS...Scattered. * OUTFLOW WINDS...Isolated gusts up to 50 mph. * IMPACTS...Given the long stretch of dry and hot conditions, lightning efficiency will be moderate for new fire starts. Any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly. * AFFECTED AREA...Through 11 PM tonight, the Red Flag covers all of fire zone 625, roughly north of highway 140 and east of highway 97. From 11 PM tonight to 7 AM Friday, mostly north of Summer Lake. Friday afternoon includes areas near Paisley and north. * THUNDERSTORMS...Scattered thunderstorms this afternoon and overnight into early Friday morning. Another round of scattered thunderstorms is expected Friday afternoon. * OUTFLOW WINDS...Gusts up to 45 mph. These outflow winds can travel up to 25 miles away from the thunderstorm that caused it. * ADDITIONAL INFORMATION...Some storms could be dry with gusty outflows. At 910 PM MDT, Doppler radar was tracking a gust front along a line extending from Ontario to Letha to near Star to near Kuna to near Swan Falls. Movement was east at 35 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Areas of blowing dust reducing visibilities. This gust front will be near... Boise, Payette, Emmett, and Meridian around 920 PM MDT. Sweet, Hidden Springs, Blacks Creek Reservoir, and French Corner around 930 PM MDT. Horseshoe Bend, Gardena, Lucky Peak Dam, and Bogus Basin Ski Area around 940 PM MDT. Lucky Peak Spring Shores Marina around 950 PM MDT.
